THERAPIES USED
I use several therapies, including CBT and NLP.
With CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) you will challenge the way your thoughts can be inaccurate – thoughts as opposed to logical rational facts. Once you recognize these sabotaging thoughts you can begin to overcome them.
NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) encourages positive attitudes by using visualization, the idea of ‘seeing yourself’ in another, different, better, mindset, with all the changes that might bring – becoming fitter, healthier, and so on. Once you can see the improvements, you’re negativity is easier to overcome.
Guided Imagery is a similar
technique in which you are encouraged to see into the future by going through
alternative scenarios in your mind’s eye.
Hypnotherapy works because any suggestions made while the subconscious mind is receptive during deep relaxation are far more likely to be ‘accepted’; the subconscious is more influential in our behavior than the conscious mind so in day to day life the suggestions can begin to take effect without any conscious effort.
This
therapy, which incorporates many
different techniques, should of course not be confused with any stand-alone
hypnotherapy approaches to weight loss.
In therapy with me, you will learn about your psychological relationship with food.
You will learn:
· How you make the wrong food choices,
· The times when you eat for the wrong reasons,
·
The many different triggers you and
every overweight person has which has led them down the road towards
obesity.
I will
give you the tools to make major lifestyle changes.
I’ll introduce you to diet thugs and bullies, and the associated chaos they cause those trying to take control of their weight.
There
is a “sting” that takes place when dieters eat in restaurants or at social
events, and highly detrimental effect it usually has on every dieter’s
life.
You
will start to change your flawed psychological relationship with food to a more
positive, controlled, healthier one.

· Thought you’d never successfully lose weight
· Certainly never dreamed you could keep it off.
Certainly you are unhappy, but your life will change.

Catastrophic surgical gastric band failures have resulted in people almost losing their lives. Gastric bypass surgery is not the miracle cure you think it is.
You will experience hypnotherapy.
You’ll learn how to identify your often irrational food and eating issues, your bad choices and why it’s not necessary to leap back on the yo-yo diet roundabout.
You’ll learn why you shouldn’t diet at all.
I talk bluntly about your eating habits and I show how no overweight person should carry on the way they are without being brought face to face with the appalling health risks attached to being overweight.
What is your reason for wanting to shed excess weight is to fit into a bikini next summer, or to avoid losing a limb to Type 2 diabetes.
Do you see the irony of driving around in a car with seatbelts and six airbags to protect yourself in case of an accident, while at the same time eating a bar of chocolate guaranteeing you carry excess weight which is statistically far more likely to kill you – from a stroke, or heart attack.
We’ll talk about:
· Your food choices
· About your relationship not only with meals and eating now but also when you were younger.
· All the triggers overweight people have which lead them to overeat
· The effect of you being overweight not only on you but also on your family and friends.
· How you’d see yourself through someone else’s eyes.
· How you might feel a year from now if you were slim.
You’re at a fork in the road in your life and the choice of direction you take.
You’ll see just how few changes you need to make to set off along a totally different pathway from the old, fat, bloated, unhappy one you’re on now.
You’re going to know this is possible.
You can be that slimmer, fitter, healthier person next year – if you have the motivation.
It’s your decision, your journey and you won’t achieve a thing unless and until you’re totally ready, totally committed.
You have to believe you can do this, and you can.
You can’t live without food so now is maybe a good time to learn to live with it.
